Three Generations of service!
Sam’s Shoe Service has been a staple in Auburn, New York for over 70 years. Sam Sr. immigrated from Italy in 1950 and started his repair business in the basement of Department Store, H.L. Greens. His charm, kindness, and skills gained a large following and the trust of many.
In 1972, his business moved to a new location where his son, Sam Jr., started helping out after school at the age of 12. As time went on, Sam Jr. took over more responsibilities and added more retail to the business.
In 1992, Sam Jr. purchased 20 East Genesee Street, the stores current location. The larger space allowed for the retail business to grow as more safety boots and brands were introduced, partnerships with local companies developed, and equipment for the repair side of the business were added.
The machinery used at Sam’s has been updated to blend and support old world techniques with modern day footwear materials and the demand for higher-end repairs and re-crafting.
At Sam’s, we breathe new life into items you thought you’d have to give up. Are your favorite shoes too tight or missing a heel? Does your favorite leather jacket have a tear? Need to replace a zipper on that nostalgic laptop bag? Want to repair your ‘good luck’ baseball glove?

Sam’s Shoe Service is the areas only sit & fit full service shoe store, repair all-in-one. Now in our third generation, daughters Jill and Katie joined the family business, and team member Stephanie.
Sam’s is geared up for continued growth and development. Sam Sr. slowly worked his way into retirement after working well into his 80’s, but can still be seen visiting the shop.
