Sam's Shoe Service is a second generation family owned business serving Auburn and the surrounding areas since 1950.

Sam’s Shoe Service originated in 1950 when Sam Sr. came to America from Italy. He was well liked and created a steady customer base at H&L Greens, a department store in downtown Auburn. There he cobbled shoes and made keys. In 1973 he moved this business to 41 Market Street. There he continued to repair shoes and added a few shoe lines.

Sam Jr. started helping out after school when he was in sixth grade. In 1985 he took over Sam’s Shoe Service with the intent to increase the retail. With the love of repairs and the retail sales growing, in 1993, Sam Jr. purchased a building on East Genesee Street, where the business exists today. The new location gave them much more room and a very nice layout for both repair and retail.

Sam Sr. is still working in the back on shoe repair and odds and ends. While Debra takes care of the retail and shoe repair drop offs, in addition to many other tasks. Sam Jr. works both ends of the business and attends to the office duties. “I love what I do, which makes working hard a little easier. I learned this from my Dad.” Says Sam Chindamo Jr.

Sam's is the only full service shoe store in the area. Whether you need a pair of New Balance walking sneakers, steel toe footwear, water proof boots, or a nice pair of Clarks, Sam's will fit you right (AA-6E)! We also carry a large inventory of insoles and arch supports.

In addition to our Retail Sales, we are a Shoe Repair Shop. We repair just about anything — shoes, boots, leather goods, zippers, stretching and orthopedic work.
